Truett C. "TC" James
Nov. 8, 1925 - Dec. 18, 2011
Truett C. "TC" James, 86, of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, after a brief fight with cancer. He was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Grandfield, Okla., to Clarence and Maude James.
TC joined the Marine Corps in June 1942, and spent the next 3 years serving in World War II. He was wounded in action and sent home in 1945. In 1948, he joined the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1966 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
TC then went to work for EG&G, which brought his family to Albuquerque. TC and his family ultimately chose to move to Farmington because of the hunting, the fishing and the landscape. He worked at Halliburton and then went into real estate.
TC became interested in building computers and started his own business, J & J Computers, from which he finally retired in 2008.
He enjoyed being outdoors, tending to his huge garden and watching sports.
TC was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Robert "Bob" James.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Juanita James; sons, John James of Mississippi; Wayne James of Arkansas; a daughter, Judy James of Kirtland; and a sister, Betty Rohschieb of Arkansas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Chapel, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington.
