Barbara (Pearson) Haskett
MOREHEAD CITY - Barbara Pearson Haskett, age 95, died on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Elizabeth City, NC, until 2020 when she relocated to Morehead City, NC. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen Pearson, and was raised by her grandparents, the late Noah and Lena Bright. After graduating from Meredith College, Barbara was a teacher for more than 30 years. She was always delighted when former students told her that when they became adults, they realized their appreciation for her and her tough ways. She was a treasured friend, talented crafter (knitting, quilting, and sewing, to name a few), and an avid bridge player.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Jeffrey Haskett (Kathleen) of Southern Shores, NC, Cam Haskett (Renee) of Morehead City, NC, and Kelly Guthrie (Bill) of Morehead City, NC; three grandchildren, Hunter Haskett, Perry Guthrie (Kelly), and Hunter Guthrie (Evie); three step-grandchildren, Joey Lamb (Kaleigh), Patrick Lamb, and Katie Lamb; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her very special friend for years, Captain Casper Meekins.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Old Hollywood Cemetery.
