Benjamin Cullipher Obituary
Hertford resident
Benjamin Gaither Cullipher, 65, passed away on Nov. 23, 2012 after a tragic motorcycle accident. A North Carolina native, Mr. Cullipher was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Cullipher; a sister, Joyce Poindexter; and a brother, Shelbert Cullipher. He was a Viet Nam Veteran of the U.S.M.C., and a member of the Elizabeth City/Coinjock H.O.G.G. Group, the V.F.W. Post and AMVETS Post 101 both in Roanoke Rapids. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Cullipher; his mother, Cristopher Garris; a son, Kenneth Cullipher; a daughter, Carol Peele; a step-daughter, Kimberly Gregory; a step-son, Scott Lewis; four grandchildren, Morgan, Linsey, Matthew, Rachel; and a step-granddaughter, Brandy; two brothers, Chris Garris and James Cullipher; and a sister, Tilley Britton. A celebration of Mr. Cullipher's life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, 2 p.m. at AMVETS Post 101, 1710 West 10th Street, Roanoke Rapids. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to AMVETS Post 101. Friends may offer condolences at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.

I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to the family of Ben.I am very sorry for your lost. When I was told of his death Saturday it was truly a shock and I was really sadden by this. Over the 3 yrs that I lived on Marshall St not only was he my landlord but he became a good friend( family). He will be missed and all of you are in my prayers.

Patricia, We are so sorry for the loss of Ben. I told someone Saturday that even though u two were our landlords, we became very fond and close to both of u. Ben will always be with us in thought and spirit.
