Calla Brickhouse Obituary


Edenton resident

Calla Dora Snell Brickhouse, 84, of 439 Rocky Hock Creek Road, Edenton, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, in Three Rivers Nursing Center, Windsor, N.C. Mrs. Brickhouse was born in Washington County, N.C., was the daughter of the late James Bennett Snell and Dora Smith Snell Mitchell and was also preceded in death by a sister, Edna, and a brother, James. A homemaker, she was a member of Philippi Church of Christ in the Cherry community of Washington County. Surviving are her husband, Patrick H. Brickhouse; two daughters, Lenita B. Campen and Kim B. Grant, both of Edenton; two sons, Patrick J. Brickhouse and wife Vicky of Spartanburg, S.C. and Mark S. Brickhouse of Edenton; two sisters, Geraldine LaForest of Mitchellville, Md., and Joyce Phelps of Edenton; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Philippi Church of Christ by the Rev. Glenn Brickhouse and the Rev. Thomas Biggs. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at the residence.
