Charlie Griffin Obituary
ELIZABETH CITY - Mr. Charlie Griffin, age 83 of 407 Factory Street, Elizabeth City, NC, transitioned from this life on Sunday, November 12, 2017.
Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC with Rev. Dr. Kelvin McDonald, Sr., officiating and Bishop David L. White, Jr., delivering the eulogy. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased, where they will also assemble on Sunday for the funeral procession.
Charlie leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Wynnette Bennett-Griffin, of the home; two daughters, Portia Toxey and Shlonda Griffin Blackwell; one son, Keith A. Griffin; four sisters, Lillian Edison, Ernestine Griffin, Rosa Kidd (Larry) and Joyce Williams; three brothers, Hubert Griffin (Louise), Arbon Griffin (Helen) and Willie Griffin (Jean); six sisters-in-law, Cheryl Morrison, Charlene Royer, Celeste Taylor (Mike), Janet Bennett, Denise Bennett and Sharon Bennett; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Griffin and connected families, by Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations, Elizabeth City.
