Daniel Sparks Obituary
Powells Point resident
Daniel O'Neal Sparks, 31 of 7873 Caratoke Highway, Powells Point, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Sparks, born in Pasquotank County, was the son of James Ellis Sparks Jr. and Sylvia Johnson Sparks of the residence. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, James Dwight Sparks and wife, Virginia, and their children, Parker, Bagby, and Eliza, all of Greensboro, and Jonathan Bradley Sparks and his fiancé, Brook Lane, of Powells Point. A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Laurel Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. David Blackman officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Daniel Sparks to the Lower Currituck Food Pantry by monetary gifts to Mt. Zion UMC LCFP, PO Box 648, Grandy, NC 27939 and food items may be dropped off at Mt. Zion UMC by calling 453-3559 for times. Twiford's Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, is in charge of arrangements. You may express condolences to the Sparks family by visiting www.twifordfh.com.
