Earnest Eugene Ballance

Earnest Eugene Ballance, age 71, of Okisko Road, Elizabeth City, NC passed Monday, March 30, 2015 at Vidant Chowan Hospital. He was born November 9, 1943 in Elizabeth City to the late Charlie and Ethel Bundy Ballance. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-two years, Ann Armstrong Ballance; four sons, Clifton Ballance (Arlene Colson), Henry Ballance (Belinda), Jeffrey Ballance (Laurie), all of Elizabeth City and Michael Ballance (April) of NC; two sisters Katie White (Charlie) of Plymouth, NC and Tammy Byrum (Chris) of Elizabeth City, NC; nineteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Gracie Lee Russell and a great grandson, Landon Ballance. Mr. Ballance retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation after thirty-two years of service and worked for Pasquotank County Waste Industries for the past five years. He was a member of New Life Assembly of God and the Gideons International. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Assembly of God church officiated by Pastor Clay Manos. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International, P. O.
