George T. Eure

George Thomas Eure, 90, of Spotswood Ave., Norfolk, Va., died on June 27, 2006, surrounded by his family. He was born June 25, 1916, in Hertford, N.C. He was predeceased by all of his siblings. Mr. Eure retired from Dominion Virginia Power in 1974, after 33 years of dedicated service. Tommy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Known as a man who loved every minute of his life, he always had a positive attitude. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Moss Eure; his daughter, Camilla Eure Goldman and her husband, Charles Milton Goldman; his granddaughter, Mason Leigh Goldman; his daughter, Jenny Eure Cavender and her husband, William Dempsey Cavender; and his granddaughter, Kelly Moss Cavender. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2006 at Berea Church of Christ, Hertford, N.C., followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Berea Church of Christ, 1664 New Hope Road, Hertford, NC 27944 or the Durants Neck Ruritan Club, Hertford, NC 27944. Swindell Funeral and Cremation Services in Hertford is serving the Eure family.
