Javier A. Arranz

Javier Avelino Arranz, 68, of 195 Beechwood Shores Drive, Moyock, N.C., died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Asturias, Spain, the son of the late Avelino Mateo and Carmen De Deloris Arranz, and was the widower of Maggie Nicely Arranz. He was a retired photographer for the U.S. Navy. Mr. Arranz is survived by a daughter, Debbie Medsger and husband, Harry, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sons, Jeff Arranz and wife, Terri, of Italy, and Nino Arranz and wife, Terry, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Twiford's Northside Chapel with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home.
