Jovan Morris Obituary
Elizabeth City resident
Jovan Lee Morris "Pete Roc" of Elizabeth City, entered into eternal rest on July 18,2013. Celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at The Mount of Elizabeth City at noon. The family will receive friends and family at 1284 Highway 343N, South Mills. Jovan leaves to cherish his precious memories mother, Dana Morris of Raleigh; son, Kylen Moore of Elizabeth City; five brothers, Rashad Patrick of Detroit, Mich., Julian Patrick, Brandon Patrick, Miles Patrick and Damon Storey all of Raleigh; grandmother, Phyllis Brickhouse-Barrington; grandfather, Rev. Willie Thomas; special aunt, Cheryl Dixon; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Rivers Community Funeral Home is expressing sympathy through sincere service to the Morris family.

Jovan was known to me simply as Cheryl Dixon's little nephew "Peedy" in the 1990's when he traveled with her & Fabian in the blimp crew entourage as an enduringly inquisitive youngster. The fond memories are of a truly fun-loving boy who epitomized all the qualities one would want in a son: impeccably well behaved, always polite, & most of all a very bright spark with a big contagious smile that spread to everyone around him. He obviously turned into a fine young man, and such a loss must be unbelievably heart wrenching for all involved. The sincerest condolences and deepest prayers are extended to Peedy's entire family from mine here in NJ, where we all recollect the memorable opportunity to enjoy meeting that charming little boy so many years ago.
