Nancy Tynes Obituary
MOYOCK - Nancy Carol Balance Tynes, age 88, of Moyock, NC passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Carol was born in Moyock, NC to Martha Flora Ballance and Bryan Ballance. She worked at the Currituck County Courthouse, the voting polls and the Stihl chainsaw factory in Virginia Beach, VA. She was a homemaker and alongside George, farmed in Moyock. Being out in the field and driving tractors was one of her favorite things.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Norman Bryan Balance; and her husband, George William Tynes III.
She is survived by three daughters, Norma Lynn Tynes of Elizabeth City, NC, Bonnie Tynes Christie of Lantana, Florida, and Sheri Tynes Brown of Fort Worth, Texas; and her grandchildren Sean Christie, Carrie Lynn Christie, Gordon Brown, and Jackson Brown.
A visitation to celebrate the lives of George W. Tynes III and Carol B. Tynes will be held on Friday, November 29th, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Twiford Memorial Chapel in Elizabeth City, NC. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 at 2:00pm at Moyock Memorial Cemetery.
In honor of Carol's love for animals, memorials may be made to your local animal shelter in her name and in honor of George, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I saw her a few years ago getting her car serviced in Currituck (perhaps it was longer than I think...time surely flies) and it was so good to talk to her. Please know I'm thinking of you all. Rhonda
