RIP, Rudy, I will always remember being a kid and Ginny,Debbie, and I would drive home with you from the Yankee games. Thanks for everything you did for me when I was a kid. I several times tried to reach you by phone I guess you never answered you were in Heaven. I spoke to Carol back in October and she told me you two got divorced and you both got remarried to other spouse. My condolences goes out to your family and friends.
Love you........

My son David and I only found out about Rudy's passing yesterday Dec 2nd. Rudy had such a beautiful spirit and vibrant personality. We are celebrating that Rudy knew the Lord and is now with Him in heaven. May God bless his family as we grieve with them the loss of this wonderful man. David and I have missed him for over thirty years, but have always loved him as have so many hundreds, even thousands of people, who knew him.

Rest in peace Rudy, I know you made your family proud, not to mention all your fans. I'm grateful to have called you a colleague and I always enjoyed talking baseball and sharing some stories from your playing days. Will never forget the story you told me when your agent Dick Moss was trying to negotiate your salary after the '78 or '79 season and you were on vacation fishing somewhere. I still share that when I am around folks that can appreciate it. In my mind, you were just as good as a Franchise Consultant for BP/ARCO as you were a big league pitcher. My prayers and condolences to your family. Bruce Taylor

I went fishing growing up in sunnyvale California with Rudy's brother and Rudy when he was relief pitcher for the orioles, it was an experience I have never forgotten all my life, he gave me his gold Baltimore card with his stats on it and I left it in his brother's van. Rudy was a type of person that made you feel different, he cared about others, I'm sorry that I lost touch with him through the years.
My prayers are with his family and God bless you all.

Rudy had a lengthly and noteworthy MLB career. Had the good fortune to see him pitch at The Big A, back in '70. He was one of the ace-caliber starters in the early years of the Anaheim era/"California" Angels. Rudy, Clyde Wright, Andy Messersmith, and later Nolan Ryan and Frank Tanana. Rudy was that good, and he actually had some of his best years later in his MLB career!

Rest in peace, Rudy. It was a joy to watch you pitch.

I very sad to hear that my childhood friend had passed away. We had some epic encounters in high school. At that time we were the best two lefthandeders in the city of Oakland. My sincere condolences to the family. RIHP BIG FELLA!
