ARCANUM - Adelaide M. Edwards, 75, of Arcanum, passed away June 15, 2013, at her home.
Addie was born in Oneonta, N.Y., on May 3, 1938.
Addie spent her life working with children, whether it was a children's home, a daycare or a school. She retired from Ansonia High School in June of 2012. She touched many lives and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Edwards, who died May 3, 2009, her daughter Deborah Sonderman. three brothers Richard, Paul, and Robert VanDewerker and two sisters Wava Norton and Gladys Wright.
She is survived by her daughters, Lou Ann Haburn and husband Martin of Arcanum, Margaret Edwards of Dayton, Betty Sue Ogden of Arcanum; son Bradford Edwards and wife Connie of West Chester, and son-in-law Michael Sonderman of Centerville; six grandchildren Bradford Edwards II of Huber Heights, Brett Edwards of West Chester, Donovan and Joshua Haburn of Arcanum, Ronald Edwards and wife Andrea of Centerville, and Trevor Sonderman of Centerville. Two great-grandchildren Landon and Blake Edwards of Centerville, brother Kenneth (Beatrice) VanDewerker of New York and two sisters Elma (Bill) Bruns and Janet Silvernail, both of New York.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kreitzer Funeral Home in Arcanum with Pastor Bob Kurtz officiating.
