ARCANUM -- James William Knick, 83, of Arcanum, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.
He was born on March 13, 1942, in Arcanum, to the late William and Betty Louise (McLain) Knick.
James will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 65 years, Linda (Bromangem) Knick; his children, James (Kim Rohr) Knick, Chris (Lori) Knick, and Teresa Forquer; his grandchildren, Josh (Lauren) Knick, Brittany (Jason) Wick, Ryan (Meggan) Knick, Alexandria (Austin) Gillman, and Sean Rohr; great grandchildren, Kaden, Izzy, Eli, Wyatt, Zeke, Emmett, Isaac, Everett, Levitt, Abram, Ryan, Cody, and Winnie; and his siblings, Marilyn Reier, Tom (Joyce) Knick, and Sharon (Roger) Archer.
James worked from 1960 to 1966 as a barber. In 1966 he took a position with TWA (Trans World Airlines), where he worked until his retirement in 2001. James' work with TWA took him to St. Louis for 17 years beginning in 1983, the only time James lived outside of Darke County.
James was a proud member of Castine Church, the NRA, and a Bass Master. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. James put his family before anything; he was the rock of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
