VERSAILLES - James R. Thiebeau, Sr. age 86 of Versailles, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 3:40 PM at the EverHeart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Frenchtown, Ohio on July 31, 1935, he was a son to the late Chalmer & Georgiana (Batty) Thiebeau. James worked many years at his father's auto service store painting cars, and also had worked for Carl Subler and Weaver Bro's. He was a member of the Versailles Eagles. In his free time he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and maintaining his beautiful, near perfect garden. James loved spending time driving country back roads in his truck, and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Joan Thiebeau, whom he married on November 27, 1954: son Terry Lee Thiebeau: brother John Thiebeau: brother-in-law Robert Poly.

Survived by his children Sandy & Nick Smith; James R. Thiebeau, Jr. & Ginetta: grandchildren Jennifer & Larry Nichols; Jamie Thiebeau; Stevie Reier, Jr; Tammy & Kent Treon; Nichola Reier & Charles Marsh; Jac Thiebeau; Dillon Thiebeau; Megan & Konrad Modschiedler: great-grandchildren Lula, Talon, Hayden, Kayla, Kira, Kelsey; Arabella; Wyatt: sister Lois Poly: sister-in-law Sierra Sprow: as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services for James are to be family only, private services. Evangelist Larry D. Nichols presiding. Burial at St. Valbert Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to EverHeart Hospice.
