Jodie Bristley Obituary

GREENVILLE -- Surrounded by loving family and friends, Jodie L. Bristley, 66, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024. Jodie was born on December 16, 1957, to the late Bud and Marlene (Beeman) Cummins, in West Milton, Ohio. She was a graduate of Milton Union High School, and Edison State Community College.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Dale S. Bristley, sons Greg (Nikki) Bristley of Stedman, NC, Eric (Ange Myers) Bristley of Indian Land, SC, sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Brett Burchett, Piqua, OH, nephew Matthew Tilton and fiance Melissa Helms, of Kathleen, GA, nieces Elisha Thompson, Kayla (Jeremy) Guenther, Anna Vance, and Kristina Frey, of Piqua, grandchildren Rachel, Katelyn, Peyton, Asa and Brenna Bristley, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her beloved Chocolate Lab, Izzy.

Jodie worked at Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, Ohio, and also at GM Delphi, where she retired after 30 years of service. She and husband, Dale, enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with family and friends, and also hosting regular card parties in their home, complete with a little friendly trash-talking.

Jodie was a member of EUM Church in Greenville, Ohio, where she led daytime women's Bible studies, led a small group, served at GIRLtime, and donated food to the Grace Resurrection Community Center.

Those who were blessed to know Jodie can tell you that she was passionate about people, and her pets. She had a true servant's heart, always putting others before herself, and was generous to a fault anywhere she perceived a need. She lived her life as a testament to the two great commandments – to love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself.

A celebration of Jodie's life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at EUM Church Downtown Campus, 111 Devor Street, Greenville, Ohio. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 pm, with a fellowship meal following at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made in Jodie's name to the Humane Society or Klove Radio.

My niece, Jodie, was a wonderful example of the Lord's servant. She was kind, helpful, loving. Her hugs were special. I look forward to going Home...she'll be one of my greeters, I know. No more sickness, pain, no more parting. Thankful for her life.

I have wonderful memories of Jodie leading our Bible study. Jodie's love for God and people drew our group together and we all became close. Her love for her husband was apparent as she talked of him. I pray for Jodie's husband and family God's peace and comfort. Connie Watson
