TROY - Richard E. Cain, age 83, of Troy passed away on Oct. 8, 2014, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born in Lima, Ohio, on Feb. 16, 1931, to the late Cecil and Mabel (Scheere) Cain.
His wife of 15 years, Anita (Buehler) Peltier-Cain, survives. Richard is also survived by his children: Jennie (Greg) Pitz of Columbus, Ohio, Linda (Mike) Kehres of Zephyrhills, Florida, Scott (Margie) Cain of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, and Colleen (Wade) Zunk of Celina, Ohio; stepchildren: Karen (Mike) Burke of Arcanum, Ohio, and Joyce Peltier and Darlene Peltier, both of Columbus, Ohio; brother: Howard Cain of South Port, North Carolina; sisters: Dorothy Golden of Archbold, Ohio, and Betty Reynolds of Jacksonville, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Mary; two brothers and three sisters.
Richard was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy. He was also a member of Troy Elks Lodge BPOE 833. Richard proudly served his county as a member of the Ohio National Guard. He was an electrician and general foreman with Honeywell Corporation (FRAM) in Greenville, Ohio.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy with Rev. Fr. James Duell as Celebrant. Private family burial will be held at Miami Memorial Park in Covington, Ohio, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baird Funeral Home in Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School Fund, 420 E.
