GREENVILLE -- Robert Daniel Elsner, age 48, of Greenville passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 10:15 am Sunday, October 19, 2025, at EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.
Robert was born on November 22, 1976, in Greenville to Lesa (Wilbur Rush) (Sleppy) Eberhart of Union City and the late Roger Elsner. In addition to his father, Robert was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth & Avo Sleppy; and paternal grandparents, Roger & Maudie Elsner.
In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his wife, Michelle (Elliott) Elsner whom he married November 2, 1997; children, Edward & Katie Saunders, Angel (Jason Ralidak) Elsner, and Autumn (Clint Shives) Elsner; grandchildren, Hayden Saunders, Madilyn Saunders, Kaylee Ralidak, Jared Shives, Blake Shives, Skylar Smith, and Rayne Smith; his dog, Daisy Mae; his horse, Karleigh; and step brother, John Elsner and his wife.
Robert worked maintenance at Mercer health in Coldwater for over 20 years. He was a dedicated Silver Hoofs 4-H Advisor in Greenville for over 4 years where he touched a lot of lives. Robert loved the Great Darke County Fair, enjoyed taking photographs of the 4-H Kids and their projects. He enjoyed horseback riding, photography, shooting guns, spending time with his grand babies, and was well known for his raspberry tea which he mixed with his back scratcher. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh and smile.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 12:00 to 5:00 pm at Eagles Landing & Venue 4062 State Route 571 West Greenville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
