VERSAILLES -- Robert S. "Squirt" Marshal, age 84 of Versailles, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Darke County on August 12, 1939, he was a son to the late Louis E. & Ruth E. (Banks) Marshal. Squirt was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Versailles Eagles. Squirt was a farmer, and had lived on the family farm his entire life. He loved taking rides on the Kubota around the farm; especially with his dog "Midnight" running along his side. He also enjoyed getting visits from his family, friends and his nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Michael Marshal, sister-in law Lois Marshal- Drees; his sister Patricia Marshal and 2 nephews.
Survived by his siblings Linda & Carl Drees; Judy & Marvin Schmiesing; William "Bill" & Barbara Marshal; Deborah & Fred Bruns: and 15 nieces and nephews.
A burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles. Fond memories may be shared at www.baileyzechar.com for the Marshal Family.
