Ann Cleaves Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and friend, Ann Whitney Cleaves. Ann Elspeth Whitney was born on July 26, 1945 in Schenectady, NY to Elspeth Paterson Whitney and Douglas Brainard Whitney. Ann married Courland Cleaves in 1969 and is survived by him and her brothers, Bill of Portland, OR, John of Colorado Springs, CO, and niece Allison Freeman of Seattle, WA. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 1648 West 9th Street, San Pedro. Donations may be made in her honor to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium or St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

I agree with Peter. Ann was full of life and energy at our 50th high school reunion. She made the rest of us feel young again. Ann will be missed but never forgotten.

At our LHS 50th reunion, I would have voted Ann the least changed, most vital presence both physically and mentally. Saddened to hear of her death. May she be with the Spirit.
