May 8, 1925 - August 17, 2021 Early August 17th Audrie Wing passed away in her home, calm, comfortable, and without pain at 96 years old. She lived a rich and happy life, married 59 years to Russell, an accomplished musician, and had three children, Janice, David and Chris. Audrie and Russell traveled extensively in Europe and elsewhere, visiting many cathedrals, especially where there were magnificent organs. Working full time as a teacher, she got her master's degree and worked as a school counselor until her retirement. Audrie had many longstanding interests and associations, not the least of which was her church, St. Cross-Hermosa Beach where she was devoted, having joined in 1957. As the organist's wife, she took on many roles, serving in the vestry, choirs, events, service to others, committees and functions. Audrie was also a long-standing member of the woman's philanthropic organization, PEO, having served more than 70 years! Her active involvement in the Retired Teachers Association and YMCA made her many good friends. To many of her family and friends who loved her she will be greatly missed. She was sharp and mobile only a few months before her advanced age, loss of good friends and medical distress all took their toll. If you're reading this, more than likely you are one of those whom she loved. Let us celebrate Audrie's richly lived life. A memorial will be offered at St. Cross Episcopal Church in Hermosa Beach on October 30 at 1:00 PDT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Organ Fund at St. Cross. Please join us for light refreshments following the service. The service will be streamed at https://www.stcross.org/memorial/

Dear Aunt Audrie, what a wonderful and amazing person. She was always so positive and cheerful. Her voice was distinctive and energetic, probably one of the best voices in history : ) We went to see her every Christmastime and enjoyed every minute of visiting and going out to eat. I'm very happy to have known her since 1964. She always seemed the same - she retained her youthful spirit. About two years ago she mentioned she was on a board of directors so I asked her when she was planning to fun for mayor of Hermosa Beach - she chuckled at that. I'm very happy I saw her in August. She was cheerful and comfortable - smiling as always. Here's a photo. With much love, Jeff and family
