Betty Jo Dunaway
Betty Jo Dunaway passed away peacefully on September 5, 2021 in Phoenix, AZ. She was 84. Betty graduated from University High School in Santa Monica in 1955 and the Univ of Redlands in 1988. She was a long time resident of Lomita, CA and Tucson, AZ. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Arnold Sparks and Grace Wilson Richardson; husband, Loren Dunaway; her brothers Robert Edward Sparks and Richard Sparks; and sister Barbara Arnold. Betty is survived by her sister, Bobbie Taboas of Silver Springs, NV; two daughters, Pam Durbin of Flint, MI and Lori Reed (Mike) of Phoenix, AZ; son Nolen Reed (Diane) of Lomita, CA; two grandsons, Rick Wilson of Jacksonville, FL and Jacob Wilson of Long Beach, CA. She was deeply loved and will be missed dearly by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Her passion in life was supporting other single mothers. As such, in lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Soroptimist International of Phoenix, P.O. Box 36833, Phoenix, AZ 85067 on her behalf.
