Doris Louise Babb

1915 - 2008

Of Fort Smith passed away Friday, June 27, 2008. She was born June 22, 1915 in Hartford, Arkansas to James & Clara Tangye. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerschel Babb and her son, James Giffle Babb. She lived most of her life in Fort Smith and Southern California. She served on the Sebastian County Equalization Board and participated in White Shirne, Welcome Neighbor, Democratic Women, Project Compassion and many others. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church of Fort Smith. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wonderful friend.

Graveside services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 at Forest Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha (Marty) Peralta; her daughter-in-law, Loretta Babb of Jesperia, California, and her grandchildren, Denise Cross and husband, John; Randy Babb, Michelle Massey and husband, Michael; and Kimberly Babb, all of Southern California; and great-grandchildren, Amanda, Wade, Jake, Brittanie, Lauren, and Michael and step-grandchildren, Kevin Peralta and wife, Judy, Marschelle Peralta Mellinkoff, Carrie DeCrisco and husband, Joseph; and their children, Brian, Vince, Lance, Douglas, Travis, Matthew, Mitch, Meg, Joey, Andrew, Blake and Tessa, all of Southern California.

The family will visit with friends 10:00am to 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 2nd at the funeral home.
