Gary was my roommate at Oakes College for one year at UC Santa Cruz. One of the kindest persons I have ever met. We both enjoyed music, and I will always remember my friendship with him. I am glad he was able to continue to live in Santa Cruz and make a career in the restaurant business. Gary had a personality that you will never forget. His laugh is also unforgettable, and he will truly be missed. My only regret is that I didn't stay in touch with him after college. RIP brother.

Where do I start?
Gary was the most genuine person I have ever met in my entire life.
I am the owner of KoKo Sushi in Green Bay. Gary was my consultant. Infact, I was his first consult job.
I will never forget picking him up at the airport for the first time (never meeting him prior) A gigantic black man! I started cracking up and so did he "kkkkkkkkkk!" He got my sense of humor immediately and that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
I am sick that I could not make it to the celebration of his life. my family had already booked a vacation during that time. I cried all day on August 2nd.
I am opening my second restaurant in Appleton WI. Included in the interior decor will be a Gary Flood "hall of sushi." I am displaying incredible photos of GFlood: if anyone has a photo worthy of my Gary Hall of Fame, please send them to me! KoKo Sushi Bar and Lounge

I am so sorry Maddie and Ben.., I lost my dad unexpectedly last year. It sucks. It hurts. But, you will see him again.

Gary gave and received vast blessings during his lifetime. He truly was a "gift to the planet!" He deeply touched many lives through his diverse love and respect of food, music, people and nature. His ability to laugh loud, love life, enlighten and open our minds and especially his strong pride and love for Ben and Maddie - allowed him to leave us a spirited, grateful, and peaceful man. He will always be in our hearts to draw strength and positive energy from.

Our deepest sympathy to Gary's children and all other family and friends. My husband, Gustavo and I will miss him dearly. We often talked of fun memories and times we had with Gary, fishing, having Sushi and BBQ and just hanging out. We was a sweet soul and he will be missed by many.

To the Family and Friends of Gary Flood,
While it has been some time since I was last in his presence, I will forever remember his smile, laugh and wonderful personality. Gary made you forget your problems. He was fun to be around. Gary was always willing to lend a helping hand and I will truly miss him.
God had a better place for him and I am sure he is up there making them all laugh.

I knew Gary back in our teen years in Los Caballeros Youth Band. I first knew him as Reggie's little brother, but he came into his own with that wonderful infectious laugh of his. He kept us laughing. I feel blessed to have known him and am thankful that we got to see him last summer. My husband enjoyed talking food with him and wanted to get to know him. Gary, you will be missed greatly.

Reggie, Carol,
Although I have not been in contact for many years, I am saddened by the loss of such a sweet man and friend. I have pleasant memories of "Y" camp hijinks that will last forever. Carol: my first real GF. Reggie: taught me what it is like to be different. All the while forgiving and great friends. Gary was the sweet thing. Infectious laugh... Once you got what he was saying, it was almost always profound... Love to you all.
