James Edward Tatosian

1971 - 2021

January 28, 1971 - June 3, 2021 Jim, son of Leona Tatosian of Harbor City and Jimmy Tatosian of Northern California, died peacefully with his mother at his side following a valiant 5 ~year battle with Glioblastoma. Jim was a graduate of First Lutheran School, West High and El Camino College. He earned his Bachelor's degree and teaching credential from Cal State Long Beach. A dedicated teacher, Jim spent the majority of his career teaching 5th grade at Cowan Avenue Elementary school in LAUSD. His selection as Teacher of the Year by the Westchester/LAX Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and 2012 is a testament to his skill as a teacher. In addition to his passion for teaching, Jim loved photography, NASCAR, and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed researching and sharing his knowledge of the sinking of the Titanic with his students and other groups. All who were fortunate to know Jim, knew him as a kind and dependable friend and appreciated his funny and witty sense of humor. Jim is survived by his mother Leona, father Jimmy, aunt Karen Mundia and cousins Lynette Giglio and Suzanne Blevins. In addition, he will be missed by numerous family and friends. Services will be held at Green Hills Mortuary.
