Joseph Canetti Obituary
Joseph "Joe" Canetti, Sr., 87, passed away on October 8th, 2017 in San Pedro, CA. He was the loving husband of Anna Canetti (Galante). Born in California, he was the son of Nicholas and Giovana Canetti (Di Massi) of Ischia, Italy. Joseph was the proud owner of Canetti's Seafood Grotto, located in San Pedro, for 60 years. He was loving, had a big personality and a booming voice that always said "You're beautiful baby!". Joe loved family gatherings, traveling with the kids, Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies and he Loved his country. He proudly served 35 years in the Army Reserve. Joseph is survived by his wife Anna, his children Joanne Thomas, Nick Canetti, Janice Greene, Mary Rodriguez, Joseph Canetti, Jr., John Canetti, Annie Valek, his 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, October 16th, 2017 at 11:30am at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, followed by a private graveside service in Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. Mr. Canetti offered sage advice when the Harbor Department tried to have me arrested for spaying/neutering and feeding the harbor cats in the '80s. He told me to "fight on". He was a wise, kind and thoughtful gentleman. FIGHT ON, JOE! Heaven just welcomed a wonderful man!
