Kaioloni Tucker Obituary
Kaioloni Nunez Tucker 33, of San Pedro, CA passed away peacefully on Friday February 6, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer in July 2014 shortly after the delivery of her son Antonio. Born on December 2, 1981 in San Pedro, CA. Kaioloni was given the nickname "Kaya" by her Nana Chapa. Kaya had 3 children, daughters Ricky, Raylani, son Antonio and stepdaughter Ariana. Her God-Children, Benny, Amber, Jenny, Jacob, Adriana, and Christopher. The joy of her life was her family and countless friends. She loved to attend her daughters, God-Children and extended family sport games, cheer performances, concerts and other events. She was their #1 Fan and supporter. Her presence with a smile would light up a room, always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved you unconditionally and her strength has empowered many. Kaya was a devoted mother, daughter, fighter, lover, sister and a dear friend. She will be truly missed, but always loved and never forgotten. Survived by her mother Rebecca (Nunez) Tucker, her fiancé Anthony Prado, her Godmother (Aunt) Dora, Stepfather John Gatlin, Uncle Richard (Shelly), Uncle Rennie (Veronica) Lisa, Eddie, Grace, Richie, Raelyn, Raquel, Reanna, Leann, Leilani, Jack, Alainna, Aaliyah, Israel Family, Kaupiko Family, Bayardo Family, Posod Family, Maradiaga Family, Gutierrez Family, Grageda Family, Alarcon Family, Lope Family, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her Grandfather Eduardo and Nana Ethelvina (Chapa) Nunez and favorite Uncle Ed Nunez. Visitation will be on Thursday February 19, from 1pm – 5pm at McNerney's Mortuary 570 W. 5th Street, San Pedro followed by Rosary prayer at 7pm Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10am followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park. I'm so so sorry to hear about Kai. She was great girl and knew everyone. We went to school together from elementary on through junior high. She and her family were always super nice to me. I hurt so much knowing what u were going thru (I never left Devin 's side, so I saw it all) & now, seeing the pain in the girls faces & your countless family & friends, I hurt for everyone. I can promise u this, Mikey & I will honor you & your wishes for the girls, make sure their bond with lil Antonio remains strong as ever & I will bring them to visit u, Dev, your Nana, Grandpa and Uncle. Slick already drew up a design for "Kaya & Devin's Divas" (u know the girls are pumped & they chose the name , to honor u, their mom & still, their step-sister). I know u will be up there watching from above & I've already told Slick u are simply a prayer away. Nani wanted to cheer on Friday in Vegas for u cuz she knows how much u love watching her cheer. She will come to Vegas later on though and support her team, just as u would want. I will always keep Becky, Anthony & your extended family in prayer. And, Becky, anytime u need a hug, a shoulder or just need time away, mother to mother, I'm here for u! Kai, give me some of yours & Devin's strength to help me & Mike guide the girls be the best they can be & continue to make u proud. I'll be calling upon u from time to time for guidance and advice.
