Marcelo Stame Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Marcelo Stame, 85, on Monday, October 9, 2017. He was a beloved husband, father, and Dida. Marcelo emigrated from former Yugoslavia (Croatia) to France, where he married his loving wife, Olga in 1960. Marcelo and Olga immigrated to America in 1961 and reared their son, John and daughter Diana in San Pedro, CA. Marcelo will always be remembered and loved for his devotion to family, his dedication and hard work as a longshoreman for 30 years, his love for fishing, growing tomatoes, watching a good soccer match, and grilling on the BBQ for the family. Marcelo is survived by his devoted wife Olga; children John (Kerrie-Lynne) and Diana; grandchildren Breanna (Theo), Nikki, Benjamin, Cambria, and Savannah; brother Ivo (Maria); sister-in-law Mira, nephews Dennis (Jennifer) and Steven (Kellie); sister Neda (Pierre). His beloved brother Vinko predeceased him. Funeral Services (mass) will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 10:30am, and a Visitation hour preceding the Mass at 9:30am, at Mary Star of the Sea Church, 877 West 7th Street, San Pedro, CA. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 South Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation in honor of Marcelo Stame towards cancer research. Please sign the guestbook at mcnerneysmortuary.com and dailybreeze.com.
