Patricia Rae "Pat" Salter

1932 - 2010

Patricia "Pat" Salter passed away at the young age of 78 on October 21, 2010. She was born on May 1, 1932 in Santa Monica, CA to Raymond and Louise McAndrews. While working at the phone company in 1952, she met her husband, Joseph James Salter and they married 3 months later on September 30, 1952. As they continued to build their lives together, they welcomed 3 children: Mark, Debra and Daniel. They lived in the South Bay area before purchasing their first home in Torrance in October of 1967, where the family still gathers today. Pat worked as an electronic technician for Hughes Aircraft for 30 years and was an avid bowler. She was a member of the Eagles Bowling League for 25 years. Pat loved football and her favorite team was UCLA. She also enjoyed going on trips to wineries with her sister and brother-in-law, Don and Darlene Merriman. Pat cherished Thanksgiving and Christmas and spending time with her family. Anyone who truly knew Pat knew her love for QVC and her soaps. She was referred to as Grandma ""Toots"" by her grandkids and great-grandkids. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Louise McAndrews; her husband, Joseph James Salter (of 46 years); daughter, Debra Salter; and sister, Margie McAndrews. She is survived by her sons, Mark Salter (Camarillo) and Daniel Salter (Torrance); her sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Don Merriman (Manhattan Beach); grandchildren, Mac, Stacie and Corey Salter (Camarillo); three great-grandchildren, Emma, Breezy and one on the way; along with many nieces and nephews.
