Patrick Wren Obituary

04/07/1949 - 08/16/2021 On Monday August 16 ,2021 beloved husband and brother Patrick Brian Wren was "handed off to the Lord" after a long and valiant fight against cancer. Pat was predeceased by his mother and father, Patsy and Ray, and leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Robin, and 4 brothers, Mike (Jo), Tony (Sandy). Chris (Lisa), and Terry (Kelli). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grandnephews. Pat was born in Los Angeles on April 7, 1949 and grew up in Gardena where he attended Chapman Avenue Elementary, Peary Jr. High and Gardena High School (Class of 1967). He served honorably in the United States Air Force and returned home to help his family after the untimely death of his father Ray. Pat retired from Pacific Bell Telephone as a Supervisor after 27 years, and found another job that he loved with the Torrance Police Department where he served as the first Animal Control Officer for the city, and retired after 20 years as a Background Investigator. Pat also loved playing the drums starting in his early teens and played for 20 years with his "surf-rock" band the "Vipers". He always got the crowd excited when he played his solo on "Wipeout". Pat was a man of honor and integrity and had a wonderful sense of humor, and he will be greatly missedby his wife Robin, 4 brothers, their families, and all of his many friends. Services will be at Green Hills Memorial Park on Saturday August 28, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel with Graveside Service immediately following in the Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the USO Or the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Just now heard of Pat's passing. To all the Wren family my sincere condolences. I left Gardena in 1971. I used to work with Pat and Tony and Chris at Gene's Shell Station and when I think of Pat I see his beautiful green Camaro parked on the stations' corner (Rosecrans and Van Ness) and Pat out there with a towel dusting it off. No one walked too close to it. Cars were important to all of us and no one took better care of their car than Pat, actually all the Wren brothers to be more accurate. I imagine Pat now to be shining a beautiful street rod at the corner of Heaven Road and Pearly Gate Ave. May all his family know that he is missed and thought well of even by those who haven't seen him for the last 50 odd years. R.I.P. Pat. from an old working friend.

Worked with Pat on VSO. We had some crazy times together as pirates on computer link. Just now searched for him to touch base and saddened to read of his death. He spoke often of his wife Robin. He was a good man. Regret not staying in touch with Pat. He was my favorite pirate partner.

Pat and I were in the same homeroom at Peary Jr High and became friends immediately due to his positive attitude, sense of humor and fun personality. We enjoyed our friendship during our school years, and at the subsequent reunions. In June 2019, Pat, Randy Vorhis, and I gathered together in Idaho to hang out with Henry Lujan for a couple of days and solve all the worlds problems and have fun. We planned on making this an annual event, but were stopped by the covid outbreak. In our text messages recently, we were all planning to get together as soon as it made sense. Giuliano's would be one our first stops and we were excited knowing that there would be more than 4 of us this time. Robin and I met in the 10th grade in Mrs Kelly's French Class and I was happy when I heard they were together. What a perfect couple. I will miss Pat but am comforted knowing where he is and that he is pain free. RIP my Brother.

I served with Pat in the USAF, we were roommates stationed in Guam. He contacted me 46 yrs. later, and he treated me like one of his brothers. I will miss going to see him in Ca. ( from FL) texting and talking about anything. He will surely be missed. REST IN PEACE
