Richard Dangelo Obituary

A 47 year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008. Born in Glendale, CA. on September 3, 1932, Richard (Dick) was 75 years old. Dick attended El Camino College, served in the Army during The Korean War and was a District Office Manager of the Automobile Club of Southern California (an employee of over 40 years). His passions included spending time with his wife, Patricia (they recently celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary); his three daughters, Diane, Denise and Darlene, family and friends. He enjoyed attending many of the sporting events and activities of his five grandchildren, Mark and Jake Lawrence, Zack Elliott, Morgan and Sydney Stocks. Dick's life-long love of fishing was surpassed only by his ability and desire to make people laugh; he will be greatly missed by many who loved him. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Dangelo of Redondo Beach, CA; daughter, Diane (Ron) Lawrence of Agoura, CA, daughter, Denise Dangelo (Richard Elliott) of Redondo Beach, CA., and daughter, Darlene (Brian) Burnham of Yorba Linda, CA. Proceeded in death by mother, Mary Dangelo and mather, Dominic Dangelo. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Dick's memory. Bowled with Dick also at Tropicana. But what I remembered most, was a touchdown he scored at El Camino, waving goodbye to defenders as he crossed the end zone.

Dear Pat, Denise, Diane, & Darlene, I am so sorry for your loss! I only met Dick once at the Manhattan Beach AAA. We laughed so hard about his story of being retired and Pat and him using coupons to go out to eat. My daughter Cherie and Denise are best friends so I know Dick must have been a wonderful person because Denise is. By their fruits you will know them. God bless and keep you all! Love Joanne Goeppner

Some of my fondest memories were being your neighbor in Redondo Beach. I also have wonderful memories of babysitting you girls! I know Jane and Paul are laughing along with Dick right now. God bless you all.

Dick-

Godspeed to you and thanks for your gift of friendship. Breakfast at Polly's will never be the same.
I know we'll meet again someday on a beautiful river where the fish are always on the bite.
