Aroha to the whanau. Shirley was one of those unforgettable people, with her own energy, wit and definitely willing to give me "the look" when she had a different view! If I ever grow up I'd like to have a bit of her sense of self too. And her daring. My favourite story was the haka she performed in that posh New York hotel using the names of the train stations in Wellington. Purple hair rulz! Marian. Xoxoxo

We were so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She was a kind and caring person and the world is poorer without her. We know that her family will miss her but the memories that she made with them will make them better people and will sustain them at this very sad time. Tony and Shirley befriended us when we arrived in France and we have never forgotten their kindness.
