Wilma Jean Reitz
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Wilma Jean Reitz on September 10, 2021 at the age of 86. Wilma will be lovingly remembered as a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Born in Platte Center, Nebraska, on August 20, Wilma enjoyed a wonderful life with her husband of 68 years, John. Settling in Rancho Palos Verdes, they raised their children, Bill (Pam), Jacke (Lyle) Prideaux, LIsa (Joe) Kastelan, Scott and Kim (Kenny) Youngblood. She was an adoring sister to Carolee Werner, grandmother to Matt (Alexis), Courtney (Tyler), Cheryl, Casey, Grant, Kendra, Kurrin, Jakob and Sam, and great grandmother to Kennedy, Saylor and Melissani. IN addition to her family, Wilma was also fond of the community around her, working for and serving the children of the Los Angeles Unified School District for over 20 years. Following retirement, she enjoyed life with John as doting grandparents at many sporting events, traveling with their best friends and close family, and dedicated UCLA football fans. We celebrate the love she shared with her family and friends, and warmth and affection she brought to all those around her throughout her long life. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Wilma was predeceased by her parents, William and Esther; stepfather, Pete; brothers Clifford and Cletus; sister, Julie; and granddaughter, Hannah. Private services were held on September 18.
