Amy Plache Obituary

Amy Rose Dickson Plache, age 57, of Boulder, transitioned Home on October 15, 2021. Amy grew up in Boulder, graduated from Boulder High, and earned a bachelor's degree in Human Services from Metro State University. She married her husband of 33 years, Paul Plache, in 1988. Together they raised two children, Abigail and Luke. As a family, they shared a fulfilling, active, and happy life. Amy started a successful business with Paul in 2005, where she worked until being diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in 2014. After her diagnosis, Amy was unwavering in her courage, determination, and tenacity to the very end. She not only lived for seven years after her diagnosis but lived a happy, active life during that time. Amy beat the odds because of her life-long healthy lifestyle, approach to the disease, and positive attitude. She is an inspiration. Amy strove to live in the moment and lived a passionate life, pouring herself into being a mom, her marriage, education, and loving her family and friends. She loved working out, horseback riding, hiking, exploring the southwest, traveling, taking one-on-one trips with Abigail and Luke, reading, watching scary movies, and enjoying a good glass of chardonnay. Amy was also an avid lover of hummingbirds. The devastation, bewilderment and immeasurable grief felt by those who knew Amy is softened with the remembrance of her humor, wit, and the love she poured into all she touched. Amy leaves behind her husband Paul Plache, her two children, Abigail Ragan (Jason) and Luke Plache, and her brothers Stephen and Andy Dickson (Kerstin) and sister Susan Dickson. She also leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many friends she considered family. A celebration of life will be held on October 30, 2021, at eTown Hall in Boulder from 2-6. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance (https://www.colo -ovariancancer.org/)
