When I was house-bound caring for my husband, Carrie arranged it so that she and
another friend came on Saturdays to play our favorite game - Scrabble. It became the
most wonderful time together and something I looked forward to that week. We also had "Movie Night" in which she came Thursday nights to watch a movie with
my husband and me! My dog never barked at her!
Her presence was a calming influence...she possessed a confidence that everything was going to be alright, in fact ....pleasant. She, also - always brought a treat!

Many years ago when my husband was failing in health and I needed to be home most
of the time, Carrie initiated "Movie Night". She would come every Thursday night and
either bring a movie or we would decide on one and we - Carrie, my very elderly and
unwell husband and I would watch a movie and talk about it afterwards. It was one of the few social events I had in those days. We did this for 3-4 years. I loved it. My
husband loved it and each week we had "Movie Night with Carrie" !!!
She also initiated Scrabble Game days with me and another friend. We did this for
many years. To say Carrie is much missed is a serious understatement! Joan Bloom

Chris and I knew Carrie for many years through the Boulder Valley UU Fellowship. We have enjoyed visiting with her, all too infrequently, the past several years. We are making a donation in her memory to the Emergency Family Assistance Association.

What a joy to know Carrie! She was kind, witty, funny, caring, gracious & full of life. She loved her kitties, too. I feel privileged to know her & Hal. She shared her love of Red Rock Lake and painted many beautiful landscapes of both the high mountains & Boulder. She was generous & happy to share her knowledge & artistic skills with me. I was fledgling photographer & watercolor painter, and both Hal & Carrie shared their knowledge & what inspired them. (Hal was a superb photographer, Carrie was a master artist & painter of Boulder County scenes.) She gave away many of her works of art to those of us who appreciated it. Always happy to share her artistic techniques & encourage others like me to create art. She's one of the best art teachers I've ever had, and refused compensation. Instead, Carrie gave me one of her fabulous artworks - a large colored pencil drawing of the Community Ditch near Eldorado Springs. It always brings a smile to my face because I can remember Carrie's beautiful eyes & her smile. Carrie made the world and Boulder a better place. Thank you and bless you Carrie Rose Malde!
