Christopher McKillop Obituary

Christopher McKillop died suddenly June 18th at his home in Boulder, Colorado from unknown causes. He was 22.

Chris pursued his dream of becoming a play by play announcer attending CU Boulder's School of Journalism and Mass Communication where he graduated on his birthday, May 10, 2007.

Chris was an accomplished photographer, an avid sportsman, and a world traveler. He was a quiet soul with a tremendous presence. He was opinionated yet compassionate and had a talent for being the voice of reason, which always seemed to help you to put everything into perspective. His genuineness, humor, and passion drew people to him and they became richer for having known him. He will forever be remembered as a beloved son, loving brother, and devoted friend.

There will be a ceremony to celebrate Chris' life July 29th in the Boulder area. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christopher Kyle McKillop Scholarship fund at Mid-State Bank, 1660 Copenhagen, Solvang, California 93463, 805-688-5566.

Princess(haha), Thank's for being a part of my life. We had a lot of good times together. Remember when we were going to get "huge" and start working out everyday after school? Ha, that lasted one day. I miss you and be sure to say hi to Chad.

Every time we bumped into each other at the J-school, you would always make sure to stop me and ask how I was doing and give me a hug. I will never forget your sincere smile and the way you were so good at making me laugh. RIP, Friend.

Chris,
You were such a great friend to me. I am going to miss all the great times we've had together. Our CPK dinners, random Starbucks runs, playing in the Boulder Creek, trying to golf, the list continues. It has been a pleasure knowing you and developing a friendship with you for the past 3 years. I still can not believe that you are no longer with us. Just by knowing you, you have made me a better person. I thank you for your friendship and for the time we got to spend together while you were still on this earth. Rest in Peace, I love you!

I will always remember your passion and drive. You never had anything negative to say and always found a way to encourage your comrades. That rare quality will live on as an example to those of us who were fortunate enough to come in contact with you. No one wanted or deserved to be a journalist as much as you did. Thank you for setting such a phenomenal example. You are deeply missed.

Chris, I cannot believe that the world has lost you. You were truly one of the greatest influences in my life. Always on top of things, always ready to crack a joke, always the best of friends. You always had and will have my respect for the way you lived life, and I only hope that everyone else was able to see and learn from you as I hope I have. You will be sorely missed, but I will forever cherish the memory of the time we spent together, although it could never be enough. Thank you Chris.

Chris,
I am so sorry your life came to a such a sudden end, the humor and reason you brought to newsteam was treasured. Even in the toughest, most stressful moments, you were there to bring laughter and relief to all of our nerves. You had an uncanny ability to remain professional, while setting us all at ease. I hope those closest to you know that your talents were not lost, we were all very much aware of your ambition and gifts. You will be deeply missed and my sincerest condolences go out to your family.

Chris,
We spent so much time together in these past three years. Its hard not having you around, if for nothing else than as constant comic relief. You truly were a great friend, and an amazing person, and it was my greatest honor to be able to spend that short time with you. You will never be forgotten, as you have changed my life in many ways. Thank you for giving me so many great memories. You are and always will be missed. (p.s. you will always be my broham)

Chris, I'd like to thank you for bringing joy, laughter and friendship to my son Brandon's life. Although I didn't know you well personally, I knew you through Brandon's words and I'm sure he is a better person with a richer life for having known you.
As hard as it is for everyone you've left behind, I do believe you are where you need to be and are enjoying true peace and happiness.
You will be missed
