Donna Louese, You and Michael are in my heart. It's hard to imagine a world without John Wayne. I remember him as a toddler in Bowie. We cousins loved getting to know you over the years, and learning to know Michael through your wonderful Christmas letters. May God bless and comfort you.

To the Downing family my deepest regards. I knew John since I can remember. My family has My wife's Place on seventh east in Salt Lake City. Many an early evening did I sit and listen to some of the most challenging and intellectual conversations. John among many Professors and scholars would debate philosophy, science and of course math. John's mind was incredible, he sat among the best of the best. I learned so much just listening to him. My father always listened to John formulas concerning that extra nickle dad was missing out on because he'd priced the beverage wrong and promptly changed it. If John only knew how much those nickles grew to be. We are forever in his debt. More than that he was my friend. As a young girl he gave me great advice that I have carried on with me through out life. He was a gentleman and scholar. I am glad to have known him. May his memory be eternal.
