Kathleen Tierney Obituary

Kathleen Louise Tierney of Loveland, Colo. passed away Nov. 29, 2015 at age 72 after a valiant battle against cancer. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Born June 5, 1943 in Chicago to William Tierney and Margaret (Mayer) Tierney, she later married Howard Wagner on Aug. 11, 1962, and they were blessed with five children. Kathleen and her family lived and traveled throughout the United States and Europe while her husband served in the United States Army, ultimately settling in Boulder, Colo. She was the Boulder County District Manager with the Wall Street Journal for a lengthy period. Kathleen was most proud her accomplishments as a professional early childhood educator and the positive effect she had on young lives. She was a Girl Scout leader and continued to support scouting throughout her life. She was also active in the Loveland Theater Guild. Kathleen enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and cooking. She is survived by her children: Margaret Mujica and her husband Mario, Andrea Wagner, Nannette Wagner-Lockard DVM and her husband Fredrick, Howard Wagner Jr. and his wife Lynn, Christina Wagner and her partner Jim Owens. Grandchildren: Alisha DeWitt, Sean Lockard, Claire Horn and her husband Michael, Selena Yakabe, Zoya Wilson, Howard Wagner III, Claire Owens and Mia Mujica. Great-grandchild: Shane Lockard. Siblings: Eugene Mayer, Susan Davey, William Tierney Jr. and Timothy Tierney. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to the Loveland City Library. A celebration of her life will be held on Memorial Day weekend 2016.
