Lance James Simpson passed away to be with his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2012. Lance left us far too early; he was only 45. Lance is survived by his wife Rhonda and daughter Andrea of Erie, CO, and his parents John and Marthann Simpson of Erie, CO as well as his sister Libbie (Simpson) Miller of Steamboat Springs, CO. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry and Ruby (Whitaker) Simpson of Schenectady, NY and Francis and Inez (Gass) Bizel of Schenectady, NY.
Lance was born in Boulder, CO on September 26, 1966, and graduated from Fairview High School and Boulder Valley Vocational and Technical School in 1986. He received his Associate's degree in mechanical drafting and engineering from Front Range Community College in 1996. At the time of his death, Lance worked for Costco and the Boulder Valley School District Community School Program.
Lance was a caring and compassionate man who loved his family. Lance is remembered most for his generous nature always placing others above himself. This included being a 5 gallon blood donor through Bonfils Blood Center. Even in death Lance's generosity continues as a Giver of Life through organ donation with Donor Alliance.
Lance loved the Broncos, watching cartoons, cooking, music, computer games (and internet security), sweets, his three dogs and watching NCIS marathons with his wife Rhonda.
A memorial service will be held for Lance at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 2415 Lake Park Drive, Longmont, CO, on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you consider donating blood with Bonfils Blood Center in memory of Lance. Or, if preferred consider a financial gift to Bonfils, because it takes more than blood to save a life. For all donations, please identify the gift in honor of Lance Simpson. For blood donation locations or to donate on line please go to bonfils.org.
Lance and his family are in the care of Darrell Howe Mortuary, 1701 W. South Boulder Road, Lafayette, Colorado.
