Marcene de Vall Obituary

Marcene E. de Vall of Boulder, CO passed away, July 14, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born September 1, 1935 in Fargo, North Dakota. She graduated from Oak Grove High School and continued her education at NDSU in Home Economics. Marcene eloped and married Frank de Vall in February of 1959 and together they raised four children. In 1965 the family moved to Boulder Colorado and she enjoyed skiing and camping with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, regularly considering her family's needs above her own. She cherished the time she had with her grandchildren, loved playing games, tea parties and crafts. After raising her children, she worked as a retail sales associate for over 25 years at Joslin's, Dillard's and Kohl's. Marcene felt privileged to travel with her husband on his various business trips all over the world. She was an avid seamstress, quilter and creator of numerous photo albums of the family (especially the grandchildren) and her travels. Throughout her life her Christian faith was first and foremost. Marcene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frank, her brother William, her sister Helene, her children Denise (Joel), Mark, Todd & Nanette and her 9 grandchildren. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Full Obituary and thoughts and condolences can be shared at www.RememberingCO.us

I know I am very late, but I can't help remembering Marcene. A very special lady and I can still remember the sound of her voice when we visited.

My Mother was the most giving, caring, happy charismatic woman on the Planet. Her laugh, her constant positive attitude made every family get togethers worth the effort. I miss her more than words could ever describe. From a child, always close, always there for me, always a relaxing comfort to my life. I miss her more every day. Don't know that I will ever accept her loss, or the simple steps that could have been taken to prevent it. She was my safe haven, my comfort, my best friend. She had the ability to always know who in my life I loved and why, even while deep in the grips of Alzheimer's, her clarity towards me and my struggles were clear as a bell to her. We feel her in our new Home daily. Miss you Mom, one day I will hold you again. Love, your Son, Todd

Growing up my family knew the de Valls. Sending my heart felt sympathy for the family. This is Jennifer Nienhouse (was Jennie Costigan from Niwot, I was friends with sweet Nanette). My Mom, Barbara Costigan, will welcome Marcene in heaven, because she is already there. They loved each other on earth and shared their deep faith. So they are celebrating together now!! Family, know I feel your grief, saying our earthly good byes to our Moms is super hard, but our hope is that we will see them again someday! Be encouraged in this deep time of grief. Hello Nanette! My email is [email protected] if you have it in you to say hello, love, Jennie...
