Mary Quinn

Mary passed away quietly in her sleep in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on November 13, 2014, from cancer. She was 60 years old. Mary was a kind, gentle, creative, and loving woman and will be forever missed by her family and friends. Mary was born in Pueblo and lived in Beulah and Central City before settling with her family in Boulder, where she spent most of her life. Mary attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, studying fine art and theater costuming. She became an accomplished fiber artist, winning awards and having artwork chosen for the prestigious Quilt National exhibition. Mary also loved mountain biking, hiking, and nature. Mary moved to Albuquerque a few years ago to be closer to her mother and sister. Mary is survived by her son, Hunter Streit of Louisville, CO; and by her siblings Jan Swan of Albuquerque, NM; Lee Schweninger of Wilmington, NC; Ann Rader of Ancram, NY; Loren Schweninger and his wife Patricia of Greensboro, NC; and Mark Roland of King City, CA. Mary's father, Ivan Schweninger, a teacher for many years at Boulder High School, and her mother, Alice Schweninger (nee Hill), also a teacher, pre-deceased her.
