Robin Leventhal Obituary

Robin Leventhal, the third child of Rose and Jack Leventhal, grew up in Roslyn Long Island, went to Cornell University and then moved to New York City to work at CBS News. She later became the first woman, and the youngest person, to ever work as an associate producer in the famed CBS Sports division, delighting in her work on the Super Bowl. In another first, Robin soon received her own show and for several years was the producer of Women in Sports, the first network program of its kind, before going on to WNET and post-television, to ASCAP. Recruited for a lead role at a Boulder Internet startup, Robin continued in technology marketing for most of the next 20 years, becoming known as a brilliant and indefatigable contributor. She was an ardent protector of the environment, a fierce believer in democracy and peace, and a wonderful dog mama with a zest for adventure. When told that cancer offered her little time left to live, she tried to face her coming demise with grace and care for others, especially her dog, Desi. Robin leaves a wide, deep and diverse tribe of loving friends, who will treasure their memories of her forever. She was pre-deceased by her beloved Soupie, and by the incorrigible but lovable Jackson. She is survived by a sister, Joan Wynn, brother in law Rick Wynn and nephews, Alex and Andrew Wynn.

I too knew Robin from the YMCA Tai Chi classes. She was such a unique person and I enjoyed her spontaneity and quirky humour. Lovely to learn of her fascinating and adventurous career. A loss.
