Charles Echard Obituary

Charles J. Echard, 76, of Bullskin Township, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at home. He was born July 28, 1935, in Bullskin Township, a son of Anna Mae (Shaffer) Echard and the late Russell Echard. Charles was Protestant by faith. He was a member of the Fairview Club and enjoyed playing the daily lottery. He was employed by Anchor Hocking Glass & Cap as an equipment operator. In addition to his mother, Charles is survived by a son, Charles Echard, of Bullskin Township; four daughters, Barbara Wilson and husband, Terry, of Dunbar Township, Betty Losse and husband, Don, of Vero Beach, Fla., Martha Powley, of Bullskin Township, and Sharon McCauslands and husband, Tom, of Palm Bay, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Keller and husband, Don, of Connellsville, and Doris Wiltrout, of Connellsville; sister-in-law, Peggy Echard, of North Carolina; special friend, Martha Sheets; and Charles' dog, Peaches. In addition to his father, Charles was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Echard; two sons, John and Russell; a brother, Ray Echard; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Echard; son-in-law, Bob Powley; and brother-in-law, Carl Wiltrout. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, 724-628-9033, and until 1 p.m. Tuesday, the hour of service, with the Rev. Joseph Wingrove officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Normalville.
