Frank Capo Obituary

Frank J. Capo Sr., 87, of Connellsville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, after a brief illness, while comforted by his loving children. Frank was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Connellsville, a son of the late Angelo and Josephine Capo. He was a lifelong member of St. Rita Roman Catholic Church. He retired from Stroheman Brothers Bakery and was a member of Teamsters Union 491. Frank was a World War II Navy veteran. He enjoyed gathering with his friends for coffee every morning at McDonald's and every evening at Burger King. Frank also enjoyed walking at Wal-Mart for exercise and socializing with customers and friends. Frank is survived by two daughters, Linda Santmyer and husband, Bruce, of Connellsville, and Josie Omatick and husband, Jim (Mike), of Dunbar; a son, Frank J. Capo Jr. and wife, Judy, of Connellsville; seven grandchildren, Jason Santmyer, of North Carolina, Sarah Pletcher and Kristopher Capo, both of Connellsville, Kelly Sturtz and husband, Matthew, of Alabama, Kimberly Adams and husband, Craig, of Scenery Hill, Erin Omatick and Michael Omatick, of Dunbar; five great-grandchildren, Morgan, Kate and Joey Adams, Brandon Pletcher and Logan Sturtz; three brothers, Jerry Capo, of Greensburg, Angelo Capo and wife, Linda, of Virginia, and Nick Capo, of Connellsville; a sister, Rose Tressler and husband, Guy (Rick) Tressler, of Connellsville; many nieces and nephews; and a very special nephew, Angelo Capo and wife, Sue, of Irwin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dolores "Midge" Capo, in 1994. Funeral services were private with no visitation, as requested by Frank. Arrangements were under the direction of the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, 724-628-9033.
