Fred C. Striner Jr., 86, of Normalville, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013, in Upton Personal Care Home in Normalville. He was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Connellsville, a son of the late Fred and Cora Brooks Striner King. Fred was employed by U.S. Steel for several years and also a self-employed farmer. He was a member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Buchanon. Fred is survived by his wife, Virginia Striner; a daughter, Kathy McFrye and husband, Kenneth, of Connellsville; two sons, Allan Striner and wife, Alice, and Bill Striner and wife, Shawn, all of Normalville; two brothers, Jack Striner and Bob Striner and wife, Barbara, all of Connellsville; and several grandchildren. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m. Friday in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, 724-628-9033, with Pastor Jim Upton officiating. Interment will follow in Normalville Cemetery.
