Garnet Jean Winemiller, 86, of Connellsville, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, in the Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant. She was born June 2, 1935, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late John French and Leona Sanner Cook. Garnet was a 1953 graduate of Connellsville High School. She was a member of New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy in Everson where she was the former church clerk and treasurer.
She was also the activities coordinator and a past Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by two sons, Robert K. Winemiller and his wife Denise of Olathe, Kansas and Randy Winemiller of Normalville; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, John French Cook, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Painesville, Ohio; and one sister, Sylvia Fulton and her husband Ron of Connellsville. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Winemiller on Oct. 28, 2021; two sisters, Twila Faye Shipley and Delores Larae Cunningham, and a half-brother, Ronald Smith. Family and friends will be received for both Garnet and her husband Robert on Monday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jay Croyle and Rev. Ira Logan officiating. Interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy, 910 E. Painter St., Everson, PA 15630 in memory of Garnet Jean Winemiller.
