George Bieber Obituary

George William "Bill" Bieber, 72, of Connellsville, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Highlands Hospital. He was born Dec. 3, 1942, in Connellsville, the son of the late George and Kathryn Metz Bieber. He served in the Air Force stationed in Panama and once discharged, he worked as a laborer for U.S. Steel for 23 years and then worked as a milkman at Fikes Dairy for 10 years until he retired. He was an active member of Fairview Aid Society, Polish Club, Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion and was a life member of South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club, Connellsville Sportsman Club, Turkeyfoot Fish and Game Club of Confluence and the NRA. Bill was an avid Nascar fan, supporting Dale Earnhardt Sr., and he was the number one fan of Kevin Harvick. He loved going to his cabin at Mt. Davis to hunt, fish and be with his friends. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah Cassidy Bieber; sister, Marge (Ron) Knipple, of Scottdale; nephew, Scott (Delaine) Kipple, of Dawson; niece, Kris (John) Leonard, of Connellsville; and great-nephews, Branden, Alex and Blake. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Joseph (Diane) Cassidy; niece, Shelly (Russ) Dolan; and great-nephew, Ryan Robson, all of Connellsville. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Daniel Clark officiating. Full military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by the VFW Post 21 and American Legion Posts 301 and 762. Private interment will be held at LaFayette Cemetery.
