James Fenton Obituary

James E. Fenton, 75, of Mount Pleasant, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, in the specialty care unit of Westmoreland Hospital. He was born in Mount Pleasant Township, Feb. 24, 1926, a son of the late Presley and Viola Shaffer Fenton. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Western Electric as a technician. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy as a yohman 2nd Class. He was a member of the American Legion Post #446 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3368, both of Mount Pleasant, and Western Electric Retirees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Fenton; and a brother, Charles Fenton. He is survived by three sisters, Charlotte Martin of Winchester, Ind., Jean Fenton and Arlene Assey, both of Mount Pleasant Township; two brothers, William and Donald Fenton, both of Mount Pleasant; an aunt, Gladys Bash of Mount Pleasant; and nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the FRANK R. ZIMMERMAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 627 Smithfield St., Mount Pleasant, Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. Services were held in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Shirley Farino, officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery with full military rights accorded.
