Robert R. "Bob" Staines, 73, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at Frick Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 4, 1947, a son of the late Thomas Edward and Violet (Volesko) Staines. Bob was a 1965 graduate of Geibel Catholic High School and studied at St. Vincent College. He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville. Prior to his retirement, Bob worked for many years as a bartender at various establishments throughout Fayette and Westmoreland counties.
Bob will be remembered for his unique sense of humor. He was proud of his Irish heritage and was known to tell a few good Irish jokes. Bob enjoyed cooking, listening to music, playing the organ, and watching the Steelers. As an amateur photographer and videographer, he captured many special family moments with his cameras. Bob was a good listener who was always happy to provide wise council to family and friends alike. He loved all animals, especially his late cat, Zack.
Most of all, Bob had great love and pride for his family and was strong in his Catholic faith.
Bob is survived by his brothers, T. Edward (Carol) Staines of Connellsville and John "Jack" (Lynne) Staines of Wheaton, Md., and sisters, Mary Malkin of Mt. Pleasant, and Joan Fattori and Deborah (Gerry) Lightner, both of Connellsville, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased in death by brothers-inlaw, Samuel Fattori and Mark Malkin.
