Benjamin Trejo Obituary

April 29, 1941 - Dec. 3, 2006

Benjamin "Chum" Orozco Trejo died in his Woodland home, surrounded by his family, Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at age 65.

Born April 29, 1941, in Fresno, to the late Pete and Lucy Trejo, he had been a Yolo County resident for most of his life. He attended Woodland schools and served in the U.S. Army. He was self-employed and worked as a rice miller. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Mr. Trejo was survived by his sisters, Margaret Aguilar Bell, Carmen Tafoya and husband Raul, Sara Alcazar and husband Frank, and Alvina Saldana; brothers, Phillip Trejo, Tony Trejo and wife Helen, and Ruben Trejo; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews; and brother-in-law, Edward Martinez. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Trejo; parents, Pete and Lucy Trejo; sisters, Rebecca Martinez, Irene Miranda, and Dolly Trejo; brothers, Alfred and David Trejo; brother-in-law, Russell Bell; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: A rosary is scheduled to be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at McNary's Chapel. A Mass is scheduled to be said at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Holy Rosary Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
